Gene is Childress Klein’s Parking Operations Manager. He leads a team of 9 full-time and 5 part-time employees and runs day-to-day operations across CK’s parking facilities.

CK hired Gene in March 1990 as a Life/Safety Officer. After a long career on the security management team, he moved into the Parking Operations Manager role in 2005. His security and first-responder background and his knowledge of security technology make him the go-to person on the parking team.

Each day, Gene runs safety and inspection checks of the facilities and manages vendor relationships. He also writes and enforces the department’s cash-handling and reporting procedures. He is solely responsible for scheduling and running special event parking in Uptown Charlotte, from sporting events to concerts.
