A local real estate company has partnered with a real estate management firm new to Charlotte to acquire two office buildings in SouthPark that they plan to market to tenants big and small.
Childress Klein, in a joint venture with Chatham, New Jersey-based Gottesman Real Estate Partners, acquired the buildings at 2100 and 2115 Rexford Road last week for a little less than $24.5 million, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. The partners purchased the buildings from Charlotte-based LendingTree (NASDAQ: TREE), which acquired them in 2017 for $24.9 million for what was to be its new headquarters before the company’s growth outpaced the space available there. LendingTree is South End-bound instead, where it will lease 175,000 square feet at The Spectrum Cos.’ project at Carson Boulevard and South Tryon Street.
