The owner of the Kenton Circle office park and its tenants recently completed a three-week toy drive for Toys for Tots. Area shoppers and employees at the Childress Klein managed Lake Norman property donated 93 new, unwrapped toys that will be given as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the Charlotte community.

The owner chose Toys for Tots in order to spotlight a local charity and to give back to the surrounding community. This is the first year that the drive was held.

The Toys for Tots toy drive, an event sponsored by the Marine Corps, is the primary collection activity which takes place each year. The collection and distribution of toys occurs in communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located or can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women. Local Toys for Tots campaign coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, including golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots and generate toys and monetary donations.
