Childress Klein Properties announces completion of two industrial developments in the Carolinas 02/11/13

Ridge Creek IV, a new 270,000 square foot building located off of Westinghouse Boulevard in Charlotte, has been awarded its certificate of occupancy.  Averitt Express, a transportation and logistics company offering trucking and supply chain services, has commenced their lease and is the building’s first Tenant.  The remaining 202,800 square feet of vacant space features column spacing of 52’ x 52’ with 30’ interior clear height, three 9’ x 10’ dock doors per bay, an ESFR sprinkler system, and approximately 80 trailer parking spaces.  Childress Klein Properties feels that the timing is good in delivering a large block of space to a market when there are few large spaces available.  Childress Klein Properties is handling leasing of the building.

Crosspoint I, a new 182,000 square foot, Class A industrial building located in the 305-acre development of Crosspoint at Palmetto Commerce Park in North Charleston, SC, is a joint venture between Childress Klein Properties and the Atlanta based real estate investment firm, Jamestown Properties.  Upon commencement of their lease in February, JAS Forwarding, an international freight forwarder and logistics company, will relocate its operations to Crosspoint I, becoming the anchor tenant.  The remaining 104,000 square feet represents the first significant, speculative industrial space in the Charleston market in 5 years.  Crosspoint I features column spacing of 50’ x 50’ with a 60’-deep loading bay, 30’ interior clear height, a 180’-deep truck court, and onsite trailer parking. CBRE|Carmody of Charleston is handling leasing.
